A firsthand account of a ceremony personally written and officiated by Gust Bassianotis.

Ashley and Mark’s Gulf Harbors Beach Club wedding in New Port Richey was a heartfelt celebration of faith, family, and a love story built on friendship. Their beachside ceremony was written around the qualities and promises that make their relationship uniquely theirs.

Some love stories begin with a dramatic introduction. Others begin quietly, with a simple online message sent at exactly the right moment.

For Ashley and Mark, one thoughtful message became the beginning of a relationship built on friendship, encouragement, family, faith, and the decision to keep choosing one another.

Surrounded by family and friends at Gulf Harbors Beach Club in New Port Richey, Florida, Ashley and Mark celebrated that love by becoming husband and wife during a personal beachside ceremony that reflected who they are as a couple.

As the officiant entrusted with telling their story, I had the privilege of creating a ceremony centered on their relationship, their family, their beliefs, and the promises they wanted to carry into marriage.

A Message That Changed Everything

From his very first message, Mark showed Ashley that he was thoughtful, encouraging, and genuinely interested in getting to know her.

He treated her with respect, helped build her confidence, and made her feel valued. When Ashley finally met Mark and looked into his eyes, she felt something especially important: she felt safe.

She sensed that something real was beginning between them and that this relationship was worth building.

Even when the drive to see Ashley was not always convenient, Mark continued making the trip. He wanted to spend meaningful time with her, and his effort demonstrated intention and commitment.

Those trips represented more than distance. They demonstrated Mark’s willingness to show up.

Over time, their friendship became something deeper. Both Ashley and Mark came to believe there was something providential about finding each other. Before long, they were building a life and planning a future together.

Best Friends, Partners, and Family

Ashley and Mark’s relationship has been filled with family, friendship, travel, laughter, and shared dreams.

They have been blessed with a beautiful daughter and treasure the time they spend together as a family. They enjoy traveling to Florida and the Caribbean, relaxing with friends, making plans for the future, and settling in together for a good Netflix marathon.

The strength of their relationship, however, is not measured only by the trips they take or the activities they enjoy.

It is found in the way they support one another during everyday life.

Mark admires Ashley’s loyalty, honesty, patience, and strength. He appreciates the love she gives so freely to him and to the people around her.

Ashley admires Mark’s kind and generous heart. She appreciates how he goes above and beyond to support her and her family. She sees him as a devoted partner, a loving father, and someone who regularly puts the needs of others before his own.

Ashley describes Mark as her best friend. When he came into her life, he filled an emptiness she had not fully realized was there. He makes her laugh and helps her feel loved, supported, protected, and genuinely happy.

Mark says Ashley helped him feel complete again. She restored his confidence, encouraged him to recognize his potential, and inspired him to become the best version of himself. He values her ability to dream, plan, organize their life, and help their family move forward together.

Ashley and Mark discovered something every successful married couple eventually learns: life is better when it is lived as a team.

A Meaningful Beachside Wedding Ceremony

Ashley and Mark’s Gulf Harbors Beach Club wedding reflected the love, faith, friendship, and commitment they share.

Because their beliefs were an important part of their relationship, the ceremony incorporated a message inspired by Ecclesiastes: two are better than one because they can support, strengthen, and lift one another through life.

Marriage is not built during a single ceremony, even during a moment as beautiful as this one.

It is built through every conversation, sacrifice, shared laugh, challenge faced together, prayer offered, hand held, and decision to continue showing up for one another.

Marriage gives two people the opportunity to bring out the best in each other. It deepens life, enriches memories, strengthens commitment, and creates a home where love can grow through every season.

Ashley and Mark’s ceremony combined the relaxed beauty of a Florida Gulf Coast beach wedding with the faith and meaning often included in a Christian or traditional wedding ceremony.

Personal Wedding Vows from the Heart

Standing before God and the people they love, Ashley and Mark made deeply personal promises to one another.

They promised to remain best friends and partners through every season of life. They promised to listen, encourage, support, laugh, remain patient, and faithfully care for the family they have created.

Most importantly, they promised to keep choosing one another every day.

Their vows included these meaningful words:

“Today, before God and those we love, I give you my heart, my hand, and my life.”

Wedding vows are more than beautiful words spoken during a ceremony. They become a couple’s compass as they experience joyful moments, unexpected changes, difficult seasons, and new beginnings.

Ashley and Mark’s vows reflected not only where their relationship had been, but also the marriage they intended to build together.

Couples who are deciding whether to write their own vows can find additional guidance in the wedding officiant FAQ.

A Marriage Filled with Love and Paradise

Before pronouncing Ashley and Mark husband and wife, I offered a special wish for their marriage.

May their marriage be as sweet as a ripe peach and offer shade like a palm tree.

May it be filled with laughter and joy, quiet moments of peace, exciting adventures, and the kind of love that makes every day feel a little more like paradise.

May their home always be a place where they feel welcomed, appreciated, protected, and loved.

May their marriage be strengthened by compassion, sealed with happiness, and guided by the promises they made at Gulf Harbors Beach Club.

With their vows spoken, rings exchanged, and lives symbolically blended, it was my privilege to pronounce them husband and wife.

Congratulations to Ashley and Mark Hatfield.

May you continue laughing together, dreaming together, traveling together, supporting your family, and choosing one another through every season ahead.

What Made Ashley and Mark’s Ceremony Personal?

Ashley and Mark’s ceremony was not selected from a generic wedding script. It was written around the qualities, experiences, beliefs, and relationships that shaped their life together.

The ceremony included:

  • The story of how their relationship began
  • The qualities they admire in one another
  • Recognition of their daughter and family
  • Faith-centered language and scripture
  • Personal promises and vows
  • A message about partnership and choosing one another
  • Words written specifically for the marriage they hope to build

That process is at the heart of every ceremony I create. You can learn more about my background and approach on the About Gust page or read reviews from Tampa Bay couples and families.
